All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle in St Helens, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although specific age requirements may apply based on the type of vehicle. A valid full driving licence is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or at our St Helens office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon collecting the vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in St Helens, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage. Any findings should be reported without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as when collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. 7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous driving. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized individuals to drive is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, and passenger and weight limits must not be exceeded. Driving outside the designated geographical area requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire St Helens is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent activities.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in that region.

We can update these Terms at any moment. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
